Springwell Community College has enjoyed a growing reputation with families in the Staveley and Brimington area and this has led to the college being regularly oversubscribed.  Here’s why…

A High Value Curriculum

The college’s curriculum has been carefully designed by subject experts to be ambitious, memorable and inclusive.  Students are entitled to study a broad range of challenging and interesting subjects and this is complemented by a comprehensive enrichment offer.

The Springwell Family

The college is proud of its reputation as a safe, caring and welcoming place to study.  Every student is known and support through their five years at the college ensures that any needs which would otherwise hinder students from succeeding in the classroom are met.  The college’s anti-bullying programme has been recognised nationally, including by the Diana Award.

First Class Facilities

The college was completely rebuilt in 2011 and the first-class facilities provide a modern, business-like learning environment. Specialist facilities include high specification science laboratories, high-tech Design and Technology workshops, an industry standard food technology facility and professional drama and dance studios.

A Passion for the Arts

Springwell is a specialist college for the Arts, a designation it first received in 1997.  The arts at Springwell has a strong reputation in the local community and more widely.  This enables students to develop their performance skills and their confidence and many of them remain involved in the arts after leaving the college.  The performing and visual arts are exceptionally well resourced with studio quality spaces for drama, dance, music and art.  The specialism has also enabled the college to recruit the very best specialist teachers and support staff.  SCART (Springwell Community Arts) runs sessions after college and in holiday periods for children aged from 4 upwards and for adults.
