Matilda entered a homework competition across the Two Counties Trust, and was the Springwell College champion designer. As you may remember, her flag was setting off on the mammoth journey south just before Christmas.
Well, it has officially landed and is now proudly displayed on the walls of the Rothera Research Station:

The woman holding the flag in the picture is Natalia Ford, who is the ‘Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Project’ Sustainability Manager. She said it was a privilege to share this design with her colleagues as they found it a: “touching tribute to one of the keystone species that we are all trying to protect through our sustainability work.”
Well done Matilda and all the Y9 Geographers who took part.
