Students and staff at Springwell Community College are celebrating following the publication of a tremendous set of GCSE results.
While this year’s results were based on teacher predictions and are therefore not comparable with those of previous years, there were some fantastic achievements.
Billie Cartlidge’s fantastic results included three Grade 9’s, a double Distinction* and three Grade 8’s. Other students celebrating high grades including Grade 9’s are Hazel Jarvis, Olivia Wagstaff, Finley Garvey, Poppy Craig, Ellie Hobson and Callum Cooper.
A number of students have made exceptional progress since joining the college in Year 7. These include Sophie Price-Stuart, Aiden Walker and Rebecca Antcliffe.
Headteacher Ian Wingfield said: “All students in Year 11 deserve great praise for their resilience through the uncertainties of the pandemic. The excellent results they have received today are just reward for their commitment and positive attitude towards their studies over their five years with us. On behalf of all teachers and support staff at the college, I send them all our best wishes as they enter the exciting next phase of their education or training.”
